Are you up for an adventure? Georgetown, South Carolina is just South of Stone Gate at Prince Creek Community. The town is filled with quaint shops, outstanding restaurants and many sights to see. Here is everything you need to know about taking a day trip to Georgetown.

The Harborwalk is the main attraction in Georgetown and a great place to start the day. This area has many historical buildings along the way including the Kaminski House and the Rice Museum. At the start of the boardwalk, you will find the Rice Museum where early settlers grew rice and indigo which turned into a large profit for the town. The Kaminski House goes back to 1760 is filled with antiques relating to Georgetown.

When you’re ready for lunch we recommend heading to the Rice Paddy. The restaurant has delicious Southern and Lowcountry food. A favorite is the shrimp and corner chowder for starters. Yum!

Once you’ve finished your meal, head on over to the historic district and take a boat tour of the area. It’s a great way to explore Georgetown and learn about the many historic sites. You’ll pass plantation homes, rice fields, and beautiful scenic areas. There are barrier islands where you can collect seashells and catch a glimpse of the North Island Lighthouse.

As you finish the tour, take a walk to the historic district and allow yourself to relax. Sit back and take in all that Georgetown has to offer. It’s a beautiful area with many great sites to see. There is no better way to spend the day.
